“Dramatic School” (1938) was modestly entertaining, but seemed like a pale attempt by MGM to mimic the magic of RKO’s classic, “Stage Door”.
I’m not familiar with Luise Rainer’s work yet, but her character here was unlikeable and, worse, charmless. Rainer’s heart wasn’t in it, apparently:
