Voilà ce que j'aime entendre en me levant. Parfait exemple de la fusion entre l'asie et l'occident que pratiquait Lou Harrison. Par certains côtés ça rappelle Moondog. Je peux écouter ce disque plusieurs fois d'affilées. Ici c'est la version vinyle et toute sa rondeur.

Lou Harrison - music for gitar and percussion, USA 1990.
Il fait partie des compositeurices qui ont intégrés des conceptions extra-occidentales de la musique à leurs compositions (Raga indien, Gamelan javanais...). Comme Cage, il cherchait à se débarrasser d'un moi expressif trop encombrant. C'est une musique dépouillée où la forme rituelle est souvent présente. Un de mes compositeur préféré.

The big innovation in S2 is laying the cardback text over the comic panel of the character's 1st appearance. While it can make the cardbacks a little messy, in the pre-internet days this is how I first saw a lot of this art.

I came across him because I heard his Third Symphony while doing some housework. I wrapped up the housework ASAP and got on to YouTube. This symphony is a delight - of our time but totally accessible:
