When the #Edinburgh #municipal #LothianBuses bus network gets •completely borked• because of traffic congestion (and really not helped by other diversions in effect today), the only sensible thing for a city claiming to be #sustainable to do would be to close this important bus corridor to private cars (at least for the day), to keep the city and its citizens moving! @EdinburghGreens

If catching #LothianBuses to/from Leith St, #Edinburgh, for your Friday night out tonight, all southbound/uphill buses are diverted via York Pl (calling at Picardy Pl) due to roadworks until ~01:00 (cycleway and pavements still open).

Great to see #EdinburghTrams running extra all night #trams for #EdFests: very handy for a night out in Leith and then connect with #LothianBuses #NightBuses home. 👍
But really shameful that as #Edinburgh’s #municipal transport services they are only publicising this on certain fast declining extremist social networks! 😠

The #TfE (#LothianBuses and #EdinburghTrams) #TransportTracker app seems to be having an off moment just now (probably in absolutely no way affected by the #EdinburghFestivals crowds starting to arrive 🤔), so just a reminder that the old #Edinburgh #BusTracker website still exists (and still seems to be working, assuming that it does have accurate data from the “new” system?).

Oh, good, #NorthBridge in #Edinburgh is open northbound again, so #LothianBuses (etc) no longer have to take a longer diversion route now.
(I •really• wish our local #municipal transport services would post service updates on useful networks and not just the now very smelly and declining #xparrot)

OAP Bus Pass application has been sent off 😮
Not that bothered about buses to be honest, as I’m extremely fit and walk everywhere in the city centre.
But free bus and tram travel to/from Edinburgh Airport is quite an incentive to have one.

But the other aspect of the #municipal bus company having #GPS tracking of buses is that Control can see when this sort of thing happens, and can radio the drivers to transfer pax from one bus at a suitable point and then turn the other one back to try to restore normal service. To their credit, #LothianBuses are normally pretty good at this. 👍

(Actually, very little waiting, the #TfE #Edinburgh #LothianBuses #BusTracker app means you can leave to get to the stop just before the right time. ☺️
But two buses on the same (less frequent) service route right behind each other? Something didn’t quite work out right somewhere!)
