  1. AI Chats — I still hate how all topics (even non-tech ones) drift toward a specific direction after a while. When I ask what led to that, the response is usually something like: “It was Pattern Recognition based on your linguistic signature and the structural logic of your thought process. But you don’t use analogies to describe your life; you use the language of systems engineering to structure it. Your communication is extremely high in semantic density. You communicate in a way that is optimized for precision and low ambiguity—the exact requirements for technical documentation and low-level system commands. That is the hallmark of someone who has spent their career designing or managing complex, logical systems. I didn’t know you work in tech; I detected the signal of your cognitive operating system. The way you process reality is through the lens of Systems Design.”

  3. Keep socials separated 😵

I love the FediVerse, and I have so many accounts on it. Mastodon, Pixelfed, PeerTube, Loops... But, I have three separate Mastodon accounts, instead of just one... It all seemed so logical, have different accounts for different types of toots. My journey account for the daily things. A fitness account for the health things. And a gaming account for well, the gaming things. Sometimes I just want to have one account and share everything from there. But my OCD brain struggles with it. What if people don't want to see the fitness stuff? What if they don't like the journal toots? Maybe they only want the gaming toots? 🤔 I know I am making this harder on myself than it should be. I guess people will just say that I need to share what I want to share, as it's my account, so my choice... And that seems so obvious, but also, so confusing... 😵‍💫 […]

  7. If gaslighting is understood not as intentional #manipulation, but as an artifact of trying to stay coherent inside a system built on #logical fallacies, then the role of therapy inside that system changes shape.

  16. Guest article by #Heinz #Luediger: “The #illusion of #time or where #Kant was wrong”

Here he spans a #logical #thread through the #history of #philosophy, which is based on the #metaphysical #concepts of #being and #becoming and leads to the steep #thesis that “time” is identical with #logic. But Mr. Luediger should rather explain this himself in his #essay published here.

  17. Multiple Intelligences

Dr. Howard Gardner’s theory of multiple intelligences seems really fascinating:

    #Linguistic intelligence (“word smart”)

    #Logical-mathematical intelligence (“number/reasoning smart”)

    #Spatial intelligence (“picture smart”)

    Bodily-Kinesthetic intelligence (“body smart”)

    #Musical intelligence (“music smart”)

    Interpersonal intelligence (“people smart”)

    Intrapersonal intelligence (“self smart”)

    Naturalist intelligence (“nature smart”)

  21. Guest post by #Yervant #Kulbashian: "The Green Swan - Part 3: A Thin #Layer of #Symbols"

This 3rd part of his overall essay deals mainly with the problem of how #language-guided, #human #thinking "can be developed from this implicit stage to a #formal #logic". Here you must first "go through the #stages of #conceptualization or #abstraction" in order to develop from this in a further step "the terms for #logical #concepts" for #AI #machines.

  22. Daniel Dennett Presents Seven Tools For Critical Thinking via Open Culture

Love him or hate him, many of our readers may know enough about Daniel C. Dennett to have formed some opinion of his work. While Dennett can be a soft-spoken, jovial presence, he doesn’t suffer fuzzy thinking or banal platitudes— what he calls “deepities”—lightly. Whether he’s explaining (or explaining away) consciousness, religion, or free will, Dennett’s materialist philosophy leaves little-to-no room for mystical speculation or sentimentalism. So it should come as no surprise that his latest book, Intuition Pumps And Other Tools for Thinking, is a hard-headed how-to for cutting through common cognitive biases and logical fallacies.
