During the 1200 km drive home to Perth, Lionel kept his watch for signs of fore-lions. Nothing. Even so, Mawson’s Bunch welcomed them home as heroes and eagerly listened to their tales.And then they showed Lionel a surprise. They meet Daisy. And Daisy showed Lionel that People had dug up evidence of mega fauna called marsupial lions or Thylacoleo carnifex. . T hese fearsome had lived tens of thousands of years ago in Australia. So, Lionel did once had fore-lions, of the Australian kinds, out there. Of course, he hadn't been able to find them as they were long gone. Even so, he was very proud to have such fierce ancestry. Lionel the Lion and Gavin Bear have set off from Perth to search for Lionel's fore-bears (or fore-lions.) From Perth to Geraldton to Kalbarri to Shark Bay to Carnarvon to Coral Bay. After 1500km they come to a little town facing the Ningaloo Marine Reserve.
