I published a new post, this time trying to make the most of the little RAM I had to create a #TileDB #soma - a #singlecell format and database - but for the complete #LINCS 2020 dataset. A measly 140GB+ of data.
I didn't want to re-invent the wheel, so ended converting between multiple file formats to avoid as many in-memory operations as possible.

Had a super relaxing weekend in a glamping pod in the woods near Newark over the bank holiday. Surrounded by lots of pheasants, geese and other creatures! Local pub grub was amazing too

@timwilson I haven’t been since the 1960s. One of those places I prefer to cherish as a memory. I grew up in #lincs and lived in London for 30 years. Have lived in #Switzerland and #France for the last couple of decades. I hear NE England is culturally buzzing these days. That’s good. Cheers.

@JevonCarey I was born and grew up in Sutton Bridge #lincs. My father was a smallholder who leased 10 acres. We grew flowers. So I loved reading your blog and encourage you to do more.
