Tonight watching an episode of the "Elementary" version of Sherlock Holmes, to relax amidst some writing tasks.
It's not deep, but the transfer from Victorian England to modern America is quite ingenious, it works. Jonny Lee Miller is fantastic as recovering heroin addict Holmes, and Lucy Liu gives the perfectly matching Watson. A solid production that doesn't take itself too seriously.
I love Jonny Lee Miller in this role: his constant agitation, his fast-breathing voice, and his face permanently that of a toddler who's been denied dinner. Lovely.
