BOE z Chin planuje wielki powrót do produkcji ekranów OLED dla iPhone’ów

Chiński producent wyświetlaczy BOE planuje dostarczyć ponad 100 milionów paneli OLED rocznie dla przyszłych modeli iPhone’ów, chcąc odzyskać kluczową pozycję w łańcuchu dostaw Apple, podaje serwis MacRumors.

Po tym jak w 2022 roku Apple wykluczyło firmę z produkcji dla iPhone’a 13 z powodu nieautoryzowanych zmian w projekcie, BOE stopniowo odbudowuje swoją pozycję.

Obecnie firma produkuje panele OLED w zakładzie B11 w Chengdu (prowincja Syczuan), gdzie działa 26 linii produkcyjnych dedykowanych Apple. Roczna wydajność może przekroczyć 100 milionów ekranów, co oznacza potencjalną presję cenową na głównych dostawców Apple: Samsung Display i LG Display.

Chociaż BOE wciąż ma ograniczoną rolę przy premierach nowych modeli iPhone, firma zbliża się technologicznie do konkurencji pod względem jasności, wydajności i trwałości ekranów. Prawdziwy wzrost udziału w dostawach może nastąpić dopiero przy premierze iPhone’a 18.

Produkcja iPad Pro 2025 ruszyła

Samsung i LG rozpoczęły masową produkcję OLED-owych ekranów do iPadów Pro 2025 (2026).

Premiera nowych modeli planowana jest na październik tego roku lub marzec 2026, jednak podobnie jak w 2024 roku, wysoka cena może ograniczyć sprzedaż. W zeszłym roku zamiast prognozowanych 9 mln sztuk dostarczono tylko 6,3 mln paneli.

Apple dąży do pełnego przejścia na OLED we wszystkich modelach iPada – iPad mini ma otrzymać OLED w 2026, a iPad Air w 2027.

Tymczasem plany rozszerzenia łańcucha dostaw o BOE napotykają trudności techniczne – producent nie spełnia jeszcze rygorystycznych standardów Apple dla ekranów LTPO OLED.
