  19. I'm trying to restart my Danish language studying (again!).

In the beginner-level book I'm using, they have the phrase "Hvad så?" and translate it as "What's up?".

With whom would you use this phrase with? I'm assuming by the English translation, it would only be used with people you are quite familiar with, such as friends and family members. Is this correct?

    Is commonly used?

Is used by certain age groups or by just about everyone?

    Tak!

I have a question about the interjection "fy" eller "fyh."

Is it ever used on its own without inclusion within a sentence?

It looks like it's a word to express disgust or disapproval to a degree. My dictionary has the definition as "ugh" or "yuck." Are there better definitions for "fyh"?

Is it considered a vulgar term?

    Tak!

  40. Kære #DKMastodon,

My dansk-engelsk ordbog does not have a definition for the dansk ord "mile." The definition I get from Den Danske Ordbog (online) translates (via Google Translate) to "large, ungrown sand dune that slowly moves in the direction of the wind." Is this a good translation. Are there better definitions?

    Tak!
