Labour hold one, lose two of the three Bayswater seats. A little insight into how much incumbency matters in local elections in that two of the three Labour councillors who won last time didn't run this time - and their replacements ran 200 vital votes behind Maggie Carman, who won. #LE2026

I’ve seen enough: the Liberal Democrats have won Stockport. #LE2026

Area council leaseholder really doesn’t like the look of this. #LE2026

Chaos with Ed Miliband has arrived, it’s just not evenly distributed. #LE2026

Another grumble about election coverage in the UK: it has become far too much about what the “model says” - BBC discussing that the model shows the Tories may win Wandsworth when, thus far…not gonna happen. #LE2026

It will not be a Reform clean sweep in Halton - gosh that’s a tight result. #LE2026

Labour are defending 16 out of 18 of the seats up for grabs in Halton today. They cannot lose control even if they lose all 16 (they have lost all three declared thus far). #LE2026

Also a by-election: Conservatives hold 39 out of 50 wards here - frankly you would expect that they would hold it given that they could throw everything at holding it locally. #LE2026

This one is a by-election (or a “special” for any Americans not muting the #LE2026 hashtag). Liberal Democrats continue to have 61 of 110 and therefore have control of Somerset. (Next up 2027)

Liberal Democrats need nine wins to govern alone here. (This wasn’t one of the wards they were ever gonna win) The Conservatives needed to gain one, this was their fourth safest that was up tonight. #LE2026 (will skeet only with the hashtag so non-UK types can mute)

I’ve seen enough: Halton Council is held by the Labour Party. #LE2026 (yes, this is a bad joke about the fact only a third of seats are available and Labour therefore cannot lose control of Halton)
