Launchpad projects for our projects have been removed

Following the silent deprecation of our usage of Launchpad Projects to manage our projects and their announcements back in 2023 when we released the first beta version of Nitrocid 0.1.0, we have to take a hard decision.

Prior to the release of Nitrocid 0.1.0 Beta 1, project release announcements used to be published in Launchpad project announcement board for every version released. As it represented double effort on our side, we had deprecated all of Launchpad projects that were related to our projects, with an announcement regarding the movement.

Fast forward to this year, and we have taken a decision that has something to do with the Launchpad Projects. Following the deprecation of Launchpad’s code browser and Bazaar, we’ve decided to remove all our projects and their code from Launchpad.

Further explanation about our decision is available in the Aptivi Newsroom article.

Alternate code forges be like:

1. Let's offer this alternate VCS, so all the #git haters come to us.
2. Oh no, there's not much money in git haters. Let's offer git as well.
3. This alternate VCS is too much effort. Let's discontinue hosting it and tell our users to switch to our git hosting.

To old-timers like me Launchpad, the Canonical-run development hub, is synonymous with Bazaar (bzr), the open-source distribution version control system (VCS) Canonical helped develop. Like GitHub, Launchpad lets anyone sign up and create a repo, then connect from the command-line to push code to it, handle merges, branch, fork, etc. Using ‘recipes’, code in bzr repos can be turned into DEBs, PPAs and Snaps. But the future of Bzr is at crossroads. Canonical plans to ‘sunset’ Bazaar from Launchpad this year: It’s not 100% clear if Canonical will stop relying on Bazaar internally for Ubuntu’s development (given how interconnected the :sys_more_orange:
