    Here's the latest variant picture for Canada.

    BA.2.86.* "Pirola" is waning under a challenge from the JN.1.* +FLiRT sub-lineages - led by KP.2 and KS.1.

    The KP.3 lineage is also challenging, featuring the Spike Q493E mutation (but not R346T).

    The KP.3 lineage is growing even more rapidly, featuring the Spike Q493E mutation (but not R346T).

    BA.2.86.* "Pirola" is waning under a challenge from the JN.1.* +FLiRT sub-lineages - led by KS.1.

    KP.3 is another growing sub-lineage in Canada, featuring the Spike Q493E mutation (but not R346T).

    With the latest Nextclade update, the first 7 FLiRT sub-lineages are now being classified. I'm now separating them from all other BA.2.86.* (including JN.1.*) lineages in a new "Lineage L2" group: JN.1.* +FLiRT.
