My copy of the Ion Heart rpg just arrived at my doorstep! The production value, artwork, and general coziness rival those of Koriko, which is very high praise. It even includes a cloth map and a dice tray, as well as a notebook and a stack of character sheets. I think I know what I'll be doing over the Christmas break.

Lesser known facts about Koriko, the city in Kiki's Delivery Service:
* Only kept the trams on the big avenue going up to City Hall Square, the rest got replaced with buses.
* Built several concrete towers/slabs in a park(ing lot) suburbs, like other European cities.
* Now has commuter rail coming from both directions to the isthmus, connecting tunnel under the old town still debated.

So I started playing the solo #ttrpg Koriko: A Magical Year. I'm planning on using it as a personal writing and drawing exercise.
It's been a long time since I worked on a longer project, and this is a good stress-free way to get back into it and challenge myself to try new creative things/post online more! I'd like to make a zine once done.

Got my digital copy of #Koriko -- a #SoloRPG #JournalingGame inspired by Kiki's Delivery Service. The art is absolutely gorgeous, and I love that the narrative is formed by drawing tarot cards.
The rules specify that you should mess up your (physical or digital) journal in some way before beginning, whether it be a key smash or an ink scribble. I am always too hesitant to write in paper journals for fear of sullying them, so this was a lovely little moment of reflection and rebellion for me!

My most anticipated pen and paper game this year just released.
Koriko is inspired by Kiki’s Delivery Service and offers a solo journaling game telling the story of a young witch spending a year in Koriko.
Many community copies are available for anyone who can't afford to buy, thanks to a successful Kickstarter campaign.
A later update will support epistolary play with friends (which I would love to do with some folks).

Koriko is one of my most anticipated games of next year, but I didn't have a deck of tarot cards to play it before today. I received a gift card for a book retailer and picked up a $7 deck as part of an order. I like the simplicity of the faces and these will work well for play.
