Comunitatea KDE a anunțat oficial disponibilitatea KDE Gear 26.04.3, a treia și ultima actualizare de mentenanță din seria 26.04. Această suită cuprinde sute de aplicații, biblioteci și plugin-uri care definesc experiența completă a desktop-ului KDE Plasma. Fiind un release axat exclusiv pe stabilitate și finisare, accentul a fost pus pe eliminarea crash-urilor raportate de utilizatori și pe optimizarea performanței de zi cu zi.

Iată principalele îmbunătățiri aduse în ecosistemul de aplicații KDE:

🔹 Managerul de fișiere Dolphin și Arhivele Ark:

Dolphin a primit corecturi importante legate de manipularea corectă a rețelelor Samba (SMB) și a partajărilor de fișiere de mari dimensiuni. De asemenea, a fost rezolvată o problemă vizuală care bloca uneori previzualizările miniaturilor (thumbnails) pentru anumite formate video.

Utilitarul de arhivare Ark oferă acum o stabilitate sporită la deschiderea și extragerea arhivelor de tip .tar.gz sau zip-urilor protejate prin parole complexe, eliminând închiderile intempetive ale aplicației.

🔹 Kdenlive și Utilitarele Multimedia:

Puternicul editor video open-source Kdenlive beneficiază de patch-uri cruciale care previn crash-urile în timpul randării proiectelor 4K ce folosesc accelerare hardware pe plăci grafice AMD și Nvidia. Sincronizarea audio/video pe timeline a fost și ea rafinată.

Playerul media Haruna și vizualizatorul de imagini Gwenview au primit optimizări pentru sesiunile Wayland, afișând corect culorile și profilele ICC pe monitoarele cu suport HDR.

🔹 Suita de Productivitate (Kontact & KMail):
Utilizatorii care depind de KMail, KOrganizer și suita Kontact pentru managementul e-mailurilor și al calendarelor vor observa o viteză crescută de sincronizare cu serverele Exchange și IMAP. Au fost rezolvate bug-uri vechi legate de indexarea textelor și căutarea rapidă în arhivele masive de mesaje.

🔹 Kate (Editorul de Text Avansat):
Kate primește ajustări la nivelul motorului de sintaxă LSP (Language Server Protocol), oferind o experiență de scriere a codului mult mai stabilă pentru programatorii care folosesc limbaje precum Rust, C++ sau Python, fără ca aplicația să agațe la fișierele cu mii de linii de cod.

KDE Gear 26.04.3 completează perfect peisajul actual al desktop-ului KDE Plasma 6, oferind o bază software solidă înainte ca dezvoltatorii să își mute complet atenția către următoarea ramură majoră de dezvoltare. Noile pachete sunt trimise deja către managerii de depozite ai distribuțiilor rolling release (cum ar fi Arch Linux sau openSUSE Tumbleweed) și vor ajunge foarte curând pe toate sistemele compatibile.
