I dont have window #blur (didnt configure yet in my #KDE_plasma #KDE and dont know how to do in #Hyprland yet), but I have simply added my wallpaper to it and tweaked some bars of transparency, blur, brightness and viola, the mastodon really looks cool.

Love to see my favourite color in the background. Not distracting so far.

Уже давно весьма огорчаюсь тем, что в моём любимом Gpick отвалилась пипетка с тех пор, как KDE со своей Плазмой прочно переехали на Wayland. Если раньше я ещё мирился с GTK-шностью Gpick (про KDE, плазму и вяленого — поручик, молчать!), то теперь совсем взгрустнулось…

@doclomieu Yo llevo muuuuuucho tiempo con #Debian + #KDE_plasma y me resulta superestable. Si estás cómodamente acostumbrado al ecosistema .deb, creo que es una opción a tener muy en cuenta.
Y aún tengo pendiente actualizar a #Debian13 Trixie... 🤔

Now on #archlinux with #kde_plasma

Installation was slightly bumpy, first messed up Grub, then installed nvidia drivers incompatible with my antique gpu, couldn't get rid of them, so started over, and now stuff mostly works.

The manual is excellent, but if you take a wrong turn and only half-know what you are doing, it can be hard to navigate back on track.

During backing up my old data, of course I forgot something, so my #krita data (not images!) are gone.

Oh well.

Is anyone else having trouble with the latest KDE Plasma update on a Dell Latitude (5430 running Fedora in my case)? At this point, I've had it break installing kirigami dev dependencies, and anything that has a newer version of qt6 as a dependency, and then after a reboot, it fails to display the login manager, and I have to switch to tty1 and force a downgrade to 4.5.6 (after plugging in an ethernet cable first, because it seems to be taking wireless networking down with it).

It's becoming very irritating. I had some 4.6 teething pains on another device, but not to the point that I couldn't launch a wayland session and operate the computer. Just the kind of minor stuff one might expect with a major update.

Since more than 10 years I help people to go away from ms with #opensuse and #kde_plasma. It is the best of all possibilities, because it is easy to learn. Yast is super for ex-Windows-users and tumbleweed is phantastic comfortable. Discover with Flatpak has so much software!
An old man of more than 70 years old has learn it!
Unfortunately opensuse with tumbleweed and kde/plasma is not so popular for #linux_beginners .
For myself I use opensuse with kde/plasma since 2008 🙂

I know there's a way to tell #KDE_Plasma that when a particular program is open, don't sleep. But I can't remember at all how.

RetroArch has a setting to prevent sleep when game is running, but I want it to stay awake when menu.

Went from Garuda Cinnamon to Garuda Mokka (KDE) for a couple of days, but it was too buggy so I went back to Cinnamon. Not sure if it's KDE Plasma's fault or Garuda's, as I had never tried KDE before. The stability of Cinnamon seems hard to beat though, and I have tried it on 4 distros at this point. #Linux #GarudaLinux #Cinnamon #KDE_plasma
