Уже давно весьма огорчаюсь тем, что в моём любимом Gpick отвалилась пипетка с тех пор, как KDE со своей Плазмой прочно переехали на Wayland. Если раньше я ещё мирился с GTK-шностью Gpick (про KDE, плазму и вяленого — поручик, молчать!), то теперь совсем взгрустнулось…

After a day of reisntalling on the hope for a fix, this appears to be tied to something about how #KDE_plasma 6.7 interacts with fcitx5. So no IME for me for a while. 💔

- AMD Ryzen 9 AI CPU
- 32GB RAM (2*16GB, replacable)
- 1 TB Harddisk
- 120Hz Display (2880 x 1800)

And now I have a taskbar for each monitor. Setup is basically totally simple, but only after understanding the concept of Panel and Widget.

The work-area on a screen is a panel. If I add a taskbar as a widget, every maximized application will cover the taskbar, which is not what I want.

So you need to create a new panel, position it, and add the taskbar-widget to it.

i-tec USB hub with 2 additional monitors: works flawlessly after installing displaylink package.

#Wacom drawing tablet: works out of the box, including pen pressure, with easy configuration of which monitor it uses, including the option of just using the currently active one.

Everything after installing #kde_plasma has been easy sailing, I'm pleasantly surprised.

Is anyone else having trouble with the latest KDE Plasma update on a Dell Latitude (5430 running Fedora in my case)? At this point, I've had it break installing kirigami dev dependencies, and anything that has a newer version of qt6 as a dependency, and then after a reboot, it fails to display the login manager, and I have to switch to tty1 and force a downgrade to 4.5.6 (after plugging in an ethernet cable first, because it seems to be taking wireless networking down with it).

It's becoming very irritating. I had some 4.6 teething pains on another device, but not to the point that I couldn't launch a wayland session and operate the computer. Just the kind of minor stuff one might expect with a major update.

At this point, I've had it break installing kirigami dev dependencies, and anything that has a newer version of qt6 as a dependency, and then after a reboot, it fails to display the login manager, and I have to switch to tty1 and force a downgrade to 4.5.6 (after plugging in an ethernet cable first, because it seems to be taking wireless networking down with it).

It's becoming very irritating. I had some 4.6 teething pains on another device, but not to the point that I couldn't launch a wayland session and operate the computer. Just the kind of minor stuff one might expect with a major update.
