Following up from yesterday, I’ve now had chance to listen to #JohnWesleyHarding again, but this time the 45 cut by #MobileFidelity.
As with some of their other reissues, this is a mixed bag. Over all, it’s likely an improvement: #BobDylan’s voice is front, centre, & v. natural. The harmonica is tamed & better handled than both the 1st UK mono & stereo. However, the bass is, on occasion, weirdly extended (it’s wacky on Frankie Lee).

Today it’s been sunshine, BBQ, drinks with friends & so I’m unwinding & #NowSpinning #JohnWesleyHarding by #BobDylan.
This is the 1st UK mono &, when compared against my Dad’s 1st UK stereo, it’s a more cohesive listen - & more punch, I think, at the low end. It also avoids the overly screechy harmonica which is a feature of some of the recent reissues.
As an album, it’s perfect. Augustine, Watchtower, & Messenger are weird & wonderful.
