Beyond the End of Space is a very early (1933) novel by John W. Campbell, before he became the prophet of Hard SF. A scientist working on the annihilation of matter ends up in another universe. Plus there are gangsters and space battles. Fun.

Read Alec Nevala-Lee's book for the scoop on this. Campbell pushed all of his authors to include this bankrupt notion of "psionics" of one kind or another. Arguably a precursor to the 70's "human potential" movement."Astounding: John W. Campbell, Isaac Asimov, Robert A. Heinlein, L. Ron Hubbard, and the Golden Age of Science Fiction"
