I've processed this to try and match the non-leaf tones. Left is #KodakP300 1962 plate, the right is a #JLaneDryPlate. This is what I wanted to see. The foliage absolute absorbs the uv, and the white vaines bounce it, so you get epic contrast.
I also think I've convinced myself that the perspex windows in our summer house disproportionately block uv. -
After a dry plate success, a couple a near fail, and an actual fail. Probably both two stops under. The sunlight was coming through a perspex window, and I'm not sure if that meant less uv than I expected.
First frame is a #KidakP300 vintage plate, the second a modern #JLaneDryPlate (very hnder exposed, but the contrast in the leaf is exactly what I wanted ) -
Here's the 4x5 #JLaneDryPlate (nominally ISO8, but closer to 2 at 7:30am on a partly cloudly London sky). Very pleased with this one.
I decided to take a "maximum close up", with my macro lens. So this area is a bit smaller than half frame. I'd say the grain works at about FP4'ish, maybe a bit more (this is #hc110b).
Plenty of detail! -
My previous #MonochromeMarch post was photos I processed in March, but I realise a couple were taken long ago. I've already posted these to in a thread, but lets put them up on the tag and say the obligatory "I give permission to include these in the Monochrome March zine"
