at the edge of heaven,
I inhabit my absence.

So far I've gotten at least 2 messages from astute followers here who note the similarity between the antique Bolognese Al Soldato on the left & famed contemporary tarot artist Nigel Jackson's recent Rose Tarot.
I'm so happy you noticed!
Sometimes people think Nigel's card images are idiosyncratic or "wrong;" here's a fine example displaying that they are instead deeply informed by his profound knowledge of tarot history.
Do you have any of Nigel's decks?

Don't you love the naïve style? The Fool's butterfly? The world as the goddess Diana? All that great blue hair!

Per request: a few of the small cards from Lo Scarabeo's charming & rustic regional deck, the Tarocchi Piacentini.
Beautiful colorful pips in the charming style of Piacenza as influenced by the Milanese Della Rocca Soprafino.
