Apple zaktualizowało listę urządzeń vintage i przestarzałych – iPhone 7 Plus oraz dwa modele iPhone’a 8 (64 GB i 256 GB) zostały uznane za vintage, co oznacza ograniczony dostęp do napraw i części zamiennych.
Model 128 GB nie trafił jeszcze na listę, ponieważ był sprzedawany dłużej. Wersje (PRODUCT)RED iPhone’a 8 już wcześniej uznano za vintage.
Apple uznaje urządzenie za vintage, gdy minęło 5 lat od zakończenia jego sprzedaży. Serwisy Apple mogą nadal naprawiać te modele, ale tylko wtedy, gdy dostępne są odpowiednie części. W przeciwnym razie użytkownicy mogą nie mieć możliwości serwisowania urządzenia.
Oczywiście nadal można próbować w nieautoryzowanych serwisach.
Na liście vintage znalazły się również iPad Air 2 i iPad mini.

Some of us remark about the speed at which consumer devices become “ancient,” but we spotted these in an actual antique store just yesterday!
This could easily be one of these new screen and software driven cars sold today, but a scant 6-7 years. I’m quite happy with my 18+ year old car. I have no faith car companies understand software or can magically maintain and support it properly.
