It’s been a week but I’ve been really happy with my new PC build. I went with large fans and airflow and I really just never hear it. Counting the GPU and PSU fans, it sits at 10 fans: 6x 140mm, 2x 120mm, and 2x 85mm on the GPU.

I think the ONLY thing that I feel like I gotta change is the annoyingly blinding blue LED in the power button. Blue LEDs already annoy me but heck it’s bright. I think I’ll pull it out and put a soft white LED in it that barely glows. I fear it’s gonna be a lot more disassembly than I want to do, though, so I might live with it and put a piece of vellum over it or something. It seriously lights up the wall across from the PC.

the Linux XE driver for Intel Arc B580 is less forgiving than the official windows driver in regards to missing ReBAR support.

However I had to fight through multiple bluescreens until the latest version was installed (which contains a firmware update too). Now after it is installed it is stable.

Will probably try tomorrow again on linux and see if:
a) there was really a firmware update.
b) it also fixes the XE driver issues.
