IG Import fixes:

- webp support
- increased post limit from 100 to 300
- imported posts are now public instead of unlisted
- support for newer + older archives

@pixelfed It worked great the last time I used it. The only issue was that the number of years displayed in the corner did not match the actual published date.

The new Instagram import in Pixelfed is fantastic! ❤️

I'm so happy to have received my photos from New Zealand, Europe, and the USA, complete with all descriptions and original dates!

When this process is complete, the next step will be to remove all my posts from Instagram, and finally I will be to delete my account. I'm looking forward to having a #helloquittex for Instagram!

We are making good progress with refactoring Instagram Import to support archives of any age.

The reason we had to temporarily disable it is because Instagram has been purposely changing the schema of exports to make it more difficult for us to process.

We are leveraging some clever techniques to determine the schema for every archive, and look forward to shipping this early next week!

Die Lektorin versucht gerade, ihr Instagram-Archiv in #Pixelfed (.de) zu importieren. Das klappt zwar nur mühsam, aber grundsätzlich schon, allerdings nur für die älteren Beiträge bis inklusive Dezember 2022, alle jüngeren Beiträge werden ihr gar nicht zum Import angezeigt.

Im Archiv selbst sind die Posts zu finden.

Lösungsvorschläge? Tipps?

Regarding Instagram Import, we've heard your feedback and will be implementing some improvements:

- Public visibility by default
- Improved caption parsing
- Clear pending imports (rate limited)
- Mass remove existing imported posts (rate limited)

Instagram Inhibits Inclusion

They changed the account data export schema (json) in a way that makes it more challenging to parse/structure your own data/posts.

✅ Challenge Accepted

Not only are we working on Instagram Import, we're also reaching out to NOYB regarding challenging IG data exports to meet EU regulations.

Thanks to @NGIZero for suggesting NOYB, we're ready to fight for data sovereignty.
