Drove from Philly to Manhattan to hang out with Kiley and bring home some bins we had loaned for her recent move. The Whitney Biennial seemed especially interesting this year, including a surprising piece that namechecks my new neighborhood. Too hot to do too much walking, so we took the A train back to her neighborhood, explored a bit and had dinner during a sudden and harsh thunderstorm before driving back home.

Evidemment, c’est biaisé, puisque le vote a été proposé via Mastodon, donc forcément on a beaucoup d’adeptes du #fédiverse.
Du coup, les scores de #Threads (souvent bloqué) ou #X (toujours honni) sont naturellement faibles.
Celui qui sort du lot, devant #Insta et #Facebook (qui ont quand même de bons scores, comme quoi les #GAFAM ne sont pas morts), c’est #Bluesky
Ce n’est pas une surprise car je vois certains l’utiliser en parallèle de #Mastodon. Certes, il ne fait pas partie de la galaxie traditionnelle GAFAM-X, mais je suis toujours surpris car il est évident qu’il prend la même direction (il a d’ailleurs déjà un historique de censure biaisée), et c’est un réseau centralisé même s’il entretient un flou volontaire sur le sujet (le protocole ne l’est théoriquement pas, mais l’application, quasiment unique à utiliser ce protocole, l’est). Pour ma part j’y suis présent seulement pour promouvoir le #fédiverse, si si, d’ailleurs je n’y publie quasiment jamais (et seulement à travers #Friendica ).
Enfin le but n’était pas de donner des leçons, mais juste d’avoir un panorama des usages. Merci d’avoir contribué !

#Bluesky is the one standing out, in front of #Instagram and #Facebook which still show good scores (so #GAFAM are not dead).
It’s no surprise to me as I see some of you using it, as well as #Mastodon. Yes, it is not part of the traditional GAFAM-X galaxy, but I’m always surprised as it obviously is taking the same path (by the way, it already has a history of biased censorship), and it is a centralized network although it voluntarily presents it in a fuzzy way (ATProtocol is theoretically not, but the application, almost the only one using this protocol, is). As for myself, I am present there only to promote #Fediverse, yes I am, and I almost never post there (and only through #Friendica ).
But the objective was not to lecture anyone, only to have a global vision on usage. Thank you for your contribution!

One was after a big band piece of mine had been played, and he looked at me and said “interesting.” and I’m still not sure whether thanks or an apology were called for. The other one was about the work I was doing in my masters in electronic and computer music.

BBC finds more ‘bad news’ about Meta, Insta & Zuck: “Instagram has been running paid adverts promoting child sexual abuse material in India, a BBC Eye investigation has found.
The ads, seen by the BBC World Service, use terms including "rape video" and "child video" and link users to channels on the messaging app Telegram, where they can buy the material for as little as 99 rupees (about 80p).“Hours after this investigation was published, the Indian government said it had summoned representatives of Instagram's parent company, Meta, over the adverts.
“Ads on Instagram are only published after first being approved by its moderation technology.
When the BBC reported one of the ads to Instagram, the social media platform responded 24 hours later saying the post did not violate its "community guidelines".” -

"je comprends mais difficile de s'en passer pour nous si on veut toucher du monde"J'ai envie de répondre, oui mais tu touches pas les personnes qui boycottent. Je trouve ca un peu léger. Vous avez d'autres #arguments pratiques à repondre ? solutions à proposer ? Oui pas des arguments théoriques.
