Raised as a Catholic, I am more used to 'Deo Volente' instead of the Arabic 'Inshallah'.

Both say the same: 'God willing', but in different languages.

I expect that Christian Bibles in the Arabic language also contain the word 'Inshallah'.

The word 'Inshallah' has no Islamic roots but expresses a religious sentiment.

We had a long #stroll along the #River #Wandle near #Tooting. We stopped off to check out some #pestle and #mortars for grinding #spices. Also, to buy some #mint #plants and #sage. The #tangerine sage should be fun. It has red flowers. I wonder if it is a communist? The sage is #variegated. The mints are #chocolate #peppermint and another #vigerous grower.

Loads of #butterflies on our #traversing and very pleased to see a #newt (also available as a character). 😮

Also did some #sunbathing in the #morning. Will be #planting my new plants #tomorrow #inshallah (which means COD willing). 🦋

When I was in Morocco, the lodgings owner was a German woman, and she’d laugh as she told us how complicated the “inshallah” thing could be. It basically means “if god wills it”. Scheduling her staff was often met with “yes, I can work it — inshallah.” It’s at once a wish for things to go smoothly but also a wee plug of plausible deniability.

I'm fine with $69 for a start if it happens before December, but $54.20 is a friendlier bet.
