The Jersey Tiger Moth used to be a real rarity, mostly confined to the Channel Islands and parts of Devon. Over the last 15–20 years it has spread rapidly across southern England, and sightings in Cambridgeshire (where I saw this one) are now increasingly normal in July–September.

Apart from the bees & flies in the lavender, the garden was surprisingly quiet this evening, so I struggled to find subjects for my new camera.
This very small ant obliged though – it's genus Temnothorax, likely T. affinis, the Baum-Schmalbrustameise in German.

It's 21 July, the Eagle has landed, & I've taken my new camera for its first walk in the garden.
The Nikon Z6 III is a fearsomely capable beast & I've barely started to set it up, but here are some first shots with the 24-200mm lens.
A large carpenter bee (genus Xylocopa) & a goldenrod crab spider (Misumena vatia).

As a bonus, here's the mystery from a couple of days ago.
Definitely an ichneumon wasp, but I struggled to find a species with all of: red & black abdomen; long, thick, straight ovipositor; orange legs.
Best guess? Lissonata cruentator. Only 53 observations on iNaturalist, 16 in Germany. But not really sure 🤷♂️

Not a new fly, but the irst time I've seen one this year.
It's a locust blowfly (Stomorhina lunata), which lacks a German name, although Augenstreifen-Schmeißfliege is used for obvious reasons.
It's also a female – males have more saturated colours. Note the enormous mouth extension in one of the shots.

It's a cereal leaf beetle (Oulema melanopus; 🇩🇪 Rothalsiges Getreidehähnchen). It's native to Europe & Asia, albeit not that common in Germany, apparently, but is a major crop pest, including in North America now too.

Second, two different furrow bees feeding on thistles.
They can be hard to ID, but I think the first one with the grey abdomen stripes is a giant furrow bee (Halictus quadricinctus; 🇩🇪 Vierbindige Furchenbiene), while the second, more golden one is a great banded furrow bee (Halictus scabiosae; 🇩🇪 Gelbbindige Furchenbiene).

I think it's a red-girdled mining bee (Andrena labiata; 🇩🇪 Rote Ehrenpreis-Sandbiene), but I've been wrong about Andrena bees before, so am not completely confident.

I think it's a red-girdled mining bee (Andrena labiata; 🇩🇪 Rote Ehrenpreis-Sandbiene), but I've been wrong about Andrena bees before, so am not completely confident.
Let me know if you have an alternative suggestion.

Then a small greenbottle, probably genus Lucilia.

Overall, it's a pretty good match for the ornate-tailed digger wasp (Cerceris rybyensis; 🇩🇪 Bienenjagende Knotenwespe), a fairly common bee hunter.
But some of the details of the black & yellow markings are slightly off – perhaps they're just rather variable 🤷♂️
