Also! Series of updates from me today. 2D Cubism keeps giving me that Java.exe error. It hates wine, I get it, you dislike being forced to work on Linux. Normally this would spell doom for the avatar process BUT!

In my frustrated searches for an answer, or a lick of code I could frankenstein to work, I found the glory of https://inochi2d.com/ which is currently being made by https://bsky.app/profile/lunafoxgirlvt.foxgirls.gay . So instead of crying myself to sleep tonight, I'm going to read through the Wiki and on stream tomorrow we'll mess around and hopefully turn the prototype into a functioning Vtube avatar ... or start to ...

For a brief explanation, it does what 2DCubism does with avatars, and they apparently work with VTube studio. And it works on linux ... via flatpak ... so I'm not needing to dust off my software degree AT ALL. i've been meaning to make one for a bit now, but i was afraid of wasting the live2d trial, but inochi2d was a free alternative, and it works for what i want, which is great! :)

So, I've been experimenting with rigging in #Inochi2D and I'm a little confused about how to define my parameters (specifically, the eyelids). I tried grabbing and opening Inochi Session to see what parameters it offers but... it doesn't... seem to have any.

I'm not sure exactly how to continue. Inochi Creator is hands-down better than #Live2D in many ways and I'd rather not pay money to that garbage company. But I don't see any documentation on how you do face capture with the files it makes.

Can't wait for #Inochi2D 0.9 so I can add boob physics to my game for absolutely no reason

I am recently contributing to Inox2d, the #rustlang implementation of #inochi2d , an open-source vtubing framework. This is my first real-life Rust project :D

Previously I ported the original Inochi2D implementation in #dlang to a STM32MP157F-DK2 board as my Intro to Embedded Sys. Design course project.

I am into vtubing-related technologies because I consider the following fact unfair: People are born with hard-to-change appearances. How one looks, sadly, drastically affects how they are received by the society. With the Internet we are already changing this fact, and by enabling people to have their "virtual faces", we can change even more.

@glennklockwood There's only one "large" FOSS project I'm aware of that uses it, and that's #inochi2D (https://github.com/Inochi2D/inochi-session).

It's used by @lina of the Asahi project for her character model.
