Quick update on my TextIndex project. Recently added:
• Inbound cross-references
• Run-in style option for deepest level (>2)
• Letter-headings option for indexes
• Wildcards can now also be used in sort-keys and cross-refsRepo and docs updated. Considering this to be functionally complete now, though requests and issues always welcome!

Are there any Buddhist #indexers out there? The Comprehensive Index of Pali Suttas has officially completed its first draft. If there is anyone out there who would like to offer specific feedback to improve it as the editing phase begins, that would be most welcome.

Out now – Big Beacon by Alan Partridge (with Neil Gibbons, Rob Gibbons and Steve Coogan). I loved the first two Partridge books and their comedy indexes. I now also love the third in his autobiogratrilogy. And ‘this time’ (a-ha) … I did its index. 🤯

I enjoyed giving my ‘rowdy hermits’ talk at the Society of Indexers #SIConf23 conference, comparing the writing of crosswords and indexes (like Pixie’s #IndexDay puzzle). Shout-outs given to Alan Connor, Boatman Cryptics, #CrypticSunday (see also @archelina and @matt) and Raider’s MyCrossword site. All in a book frock, of course.

(Japanese edition also out now but not yet seen.) Odd to see your own index translated but intriguing. One early article fix: removing Twitter details from my author bio.
