This year's #ICFPContest was really nice (https://icfpcontest2024.github.io/) – reminded me of the classics from 2006 and 2007. Bravo!

I know I say this every time, but this year's ICFPC truly was a blast! I particularly liked the structure: instead of a single task with a dozen specific instances, we got four related tasks which were all framed by the same setting. This made it way more fun, because I could always switch to something else if I got properly stuck on something; and by the time I went back, someone else already fixed what was blocking me.
This is one of the best contests I participated in.

If nothing else, I'm pleased to be getting unreasonably good results with about 110 lines of code, which runs all 90 problems in 10 minutes on my laptop thanks to hacky mutability... #ICFPC

Wowee, I'm glad I didn't go to sleep. Discovered a particular type of problems for which my solver is the best team-wide. Marginally, but still.

After a busy week of work and travel, of course I'm now doing the #ICFPContest, in #OCaml for a change. I haven't done a ton of it before but it's working well and I'm the highest on the scoreboard I've been for years. #ICFPC

I'm very happy with my performance at #ICFPC so far. After the first day, my solver has found four solutions that are best team-wide!

Finally a trophy. Orcish Bowmasters are insane. What a great card, honestly. Fair, but very powerful (in limited) and completely bonkers in #Legacy or #EDH.

Каждый год мы с друзьями из codingteam.org.ru играем в #ICFPC — трёхдневное соревнование по программированию с нестандартными, «жизненными» задачами. Несмотря на творящийся в мире бардак, 2022-й не стал исключением, и, конечно же, я написал отчёт: https://blog.debiania.in.ua/posts/2022-09-08-icfpc-2022.html Я пишу их в надежде, что больше людей откроёт для себя это офигенное развлечение и будет, как и я, три дня в год погружаться в очередную безбашенную задачку (которую, кстати, можно решать и руками, без программирования). Увидимся в турнирной таблице в следующем году :)
