Despite a rather chilly and blustery wind, about 30 of us gathered at the Hungarian Garden - officially known as the Magyar Millennium Park - here in Wellington to celebrate St Stephens Day, August 20th, the most important of the Hungarian national days. We are the most distant of the Hungarian diaspora here in Aotearoa but we still celebrate these important days. Two wreaths were laid, one by the Hungarian Embassy and another by a member of the local community.
