English born oil painter Romer Kitching (b 1995) had no formal training until he moved to Florence at age 19. He makes his home now in Céret, a village in Southern France.

Sorapure says of her 2017 Oil on linen painting:
“The sleeping man is my husband the artist Saied Dai and yes, there is a tiny self-portrait in the reflection on the desk lamp – a silent witness. The painting on the wall is also a self-portrait, and the feeling I wanted was that of my watching over him. The whole painting is a kind of love letter …”

Self Portrait by Norwegian Artist Ingolv Helland, 2007

Helland studied at Amherst College in Massachusetts. Afterwards he worked as a bond analyst in New York, while studying art in the evenings and weekends.
In 1997 Helland quit finance to focus on his art returning to his native Oslo in 2006.
