My wife is making a stew from a #NigellaLawson recipe book. I chose the recipe, but I didn’t read it that closely.
The recipe makes 8 servings, but calls for an entire bottle of white wine, and 2.5 kg of lamb. At today’s prices that’s about £75 just for the two ingredients.
Also the way the book is laid out is terrible, and the recipe takes 3 days to cook.

Just watching Brian Cox on channel 5 at the moment on the subject of poverty and how the rich are getting richer at the expense of the poor. Really powerful stuff where he's not afraid to show his anger at the current levels of greed. Something obviously needs to change as it's truly fucking heartbreaking seeing people really struggle just to feed their families. #HowTheOtherHalfLive
