I just finished reading Hojoki for the second time.
I think everyone should read it, though not everyone may understand it. Not because it's difficult, but because Chomei's perspective on life is so contrary to what many people strive for and are taught to strive for.

Dear friends and followers. I would like to apologize for flooding your feed with my anger. I have tried to avoid this since coming to Mastodon. I hope I have not unduly upset you. These “conversations” do no good and I will cease them now.
As I said back in November, the time for political action may be over, at least for a time or on a national scale. It is a time for solidarity, resistance, and mutual aid.
I may bring my copy of #Hojoki to school tomorrow to reflect during the break. I’m becoming convinced that it is the manner in which I live my day to day life that will make a difference.
