A goodbye to Takayama #Photo, visiting #HidaFolkVillage. An interesting aspect of the traditional #Japanese domestic architecture, was functional use of bare earth for some interior spaces. So, around the cooking fire, or in the bathing and washing room. It makes sense if you're trying to contain a fire hazard, or need water to soak away. The whole area echoes with the slapping of Shi Shi Odoshi tipping water features.
