…AKA: the story of my hematoma & edema…
My “first” hip surgery of this year happened on June 13th. All went well and I felt like my recovery was going nicely. Until on June 30th my hip decided to make a loud cracking sound. According to mum, I cried out in paint and agony in a way that was heartbreaking and scary… After ± 5 hours, they finally set the leg, but the prosthetic was damaged. The next day, I had an emergency surgery, where they replaced the ball with a bigger one that should fit the new socket better.
All this meant, besides loads of pain, trauma, and anxiety, that the hip area was badly damaged and painful and all that… It took a little while, bit then, the bruised area became so bad, that mum took a snap and we contacted the hospital…
