Представьте, что вы купили беспроводную колонку. Колонка отработала полгода, а в одно утро просто перестала включаться. В сервисе разводят руками: дело в плате, чинить дороже, чем купить новую. Причина такой поломки бывает старше устройства. Ошибку сделали ещё на компьютере, когда проектировали плату. Она пережила производство, проверки, сборку и полгода работы. Внутри с первого дня осталась заводская химия, которая за полгода “съела” важный проводник. Я ловлю такие ошибки, пока проект печатной платы не ушёл в производство. Почти вся моя работа состоит из вопросов к такому проекту. Сейчас расскажу, откуда в файлах берутся ошибки, которые не видит даже их автор, и как против них работают правильные вопросы.

Что такое HDI-платы и как их оптимально проектировать
Применение более сложных компонентов с очень большим числом выводов привело к внедрению технологий по созданию более мелких переходных отверстий, а также внедрению новых и модификации уже существующих технологических процессов. Все они имеют общие особенности: позволяют существенно увеличить плотность трассировки, уменьшить размер и вес изделия, улучшить электрические характеристики. Такие платы называют HDI (англ. High Density Interconnect) — это печатные платы с высокой плотностью межсоединений. Цель нашей статьи — показать, что соблюдая простые рекомендации и имея представление о "популярных" ошибках, можно заметно сэкономить время, а также получить надежные и соответствующие функциональным характеристикам HDI-платы, поставленные в срок, с минимальным риском дефектов и по оптимальной стоимости.

New archaeological method links ancient mega settlements to modern concepts of human development
A recent study has unveiled a novel method to explore ancient social dynamics and individual well-being through archaeology. The study bridges the gap between ancient material remains and modern concepts like the United Nations Human Development Index (HDI).

The Sustainable Development Index has been updated with data through 2022. The SDI is a metric that (broadly) normalizes a country's level of human development by the resource consumption & ecological impacts required to provide that human development. Both hyperconsumptive & underdeveloped countries score poorly, while middle income countries focused on wellbeing tend to score well (Costa Rica, Sri Lanka, Uruguay)

I decided to try something new and create my very first #bivariate #choropleth map! The two variables I’ve mapped for 52 African countries are the 2023 #WorldPressFreedomIndex scores by #ReportersWithoutBorders and the 2022 #HumanDevelopmentIndex by the UN Development Programme.
Unfortunately São Tomé and Príncipe didn’t have a WPFI score while there’s no HDI for Somalia. Of course Western Sahara had no data too.

Highest-scored regions annoyingly show up in white, but the map still provides a nice illustration of the different outcomes in countries with a strong centre vs periphery divide and those where power and wealth are distributed more evenly.
