  1. A Happy New Year to everyone! This is a unique survivor - the Hawker Tomtit of the Shuttleworth Trust collection at Old Warden. Please visit The People's Mosquito site, and support this splendid aviation charity, see www.peoplesmosquito.org.uk #aviation #charity #history #avgeek #aviationgeek #aviationlovers #photography #aviationphotography #RAF #RoyalAirForce #ShuttleworthTrust #OldWarden #biplane #Hawker #HawkerTomtit #HappyNewYear #HappyNewYear2024 #aircraft #NewYear #aviationheritage #museum #aviationmuseum

  2. Hawker Tempest TT.5 This aircraft shows its last role in RAF service - that of a target tug - which was undertaken by one of the most potent Allied fighters of WW2. The Hawker Tempest was a superb aircraft, designed by Sir Sydney Camm, and a direct development of the Hawker Typhoon. A Napier Sabre H-bored sleeve-valve engine provided more than 2,000hp. However, dressed in black and yellow undersides, a more mundane task awaited it in the post-War world. This #aircraft is owned by the RAF Museum, but has since been moved. #RoyalAirForce #RAF #WW2 #postWW2 #fighter #history #fighter #targettug #SirSydneyCamm #RAFMuseum #Hawker #Tempest #Typhoon #Museum

  3. A very Happy New Year to all my friends on #Mastodon and elsewhere. May the forthcoming year be full of joy! Here we see a unique survivor, a classic 1920s biplane design from Hawker, the Tomtit biplane trainer for the RAF. The last Tomtit flies with the Shuttle Trust Collection at Old Warden. #aviationphotography #photography #RoyalAirForce #Hawker #Tomtit #biplane #trainer #Mongoose #radialengine #aircraft #ShuttleworthTrust #OldWarden #UK #HappyNewYear #2023 #avgeek #aviation #museum
