Dreidel is /se-vee-'von/ סביבון in Hebrew
Turning or spinning is /see-'voov/ סיבוב
So you can see where the dreidel gets its name from.

Everywhere I turn, it's Christmas lights, wreaths, and Santa hats galore.

It’s beautiful, no doubt — but as someone who celebrates Hanukkah, I can’t help but feel a little outnumbered.
And then it happened!
I spotted a menorah tucked in among the candy canes.
It was like stumbling upon a hidden treasure in the middle of a Christmas wonderland.
Not long after, I saw a dreidel nestled on a store shelf, quietly holding its own between shiny red ornaments and gingerbread men.
It felt like these little pieces of Hanukkah were winking at me, reminding me that our light shines even in unexpected places.
It’s funny how something so small can feel like a warm hug from home when you're not expecting it.
It made me pause, smile, and think: even in a world of Christmas glitter, there’s always room for a little Hanukkah magic.
