I’ve got a question and need your help. I’m preparing a lecture about #Dupuytren’s disease and want to quote some amazing speeches by Charles Eaton (Dupuytren’s society, etc).
So I stumbled into this slide about risk and asked to myself (as a Spaniard) Where are we in that chart? (And the Portuguese, for that matter). This may seem a lesser fact, but lecturing about that in Spain means there will be a dozen of raised hands in the audience the moment I show this one.

CW: health rehab hand injury
Hand rehab entered the Contraption Phase on Thursday. I’m using a brace from Joint Active Systems for 30 minutes, 3 times daily, to force my wrist into flexion. The goal is another 10 degrees.
I essentially developed scar tissue underneath the skin due to the prolonged swelling in the top of my hand. The hand doc said we need to stretch it again, “and by ‘stretch’ I mean ‘tear’!”
First day was tricky. The excellent service rep got on a Zoom to help troubleshoot and it’s better. Getting some sliding with the arm piece so they’re sending some special foam, “NASA Foam”, that should improve it more.
I’m really grateful I’m allowed to use the Elasto-Gel glove after a session as long as I wrap my fingers. One of the many doctors I’ve seen on this journey figured out my occasional numbness is #ReynaudsSyndrome, not nerve damage, and the cold makes my fingers go white! #HandRehab #HandTherapy #JAS #JointActiveSystemsBrace #BrokenWrist #LigamentInjuries
