Back from presenting on "Technology to Support English Learners & Multilingual Families" at #GTechSummit23.
My presentation went well - lots of good questions and comments. I also learned *a lot* at the other presentations.
Thanks to everyone involved is making the summit happen. Looking forward to #GTechSummit24!

Finished prep for #GTechSummit23! Slides already uploaded to https://www.chrisspackman.com. Need to double check links all work, but should be good to go.
Looking forward to the sessions tomorrow.

Got lots done today on prep for my presentation / workshop at #GTechSummit23. Presentation slides (LaTeX Beamer, ofc), Google Forms in several languages, docs to translate, html pages of links, as well as QR codes. So, productive day.
Also have to present about #ESOL and supporting #EnglishLearners to new staff at #K12 school tomorrow, so, oops, should probably prepare for that too.

I should be working on my #GTechSummit23 #ESOL / #EnglishLearner presentation, but I'm really loving the #RewatcherPodcast #BuffyTheVampireKiller podcast.
Had never heard of Morbid, the true crime podcast by the same people, but might have to check it out. Can't listen to science and political news all day every day, right?

Already 20 slides for my #GTechSummit23 presentation, and have just barely scratched the surface.
Don't worry though, much of the interactive content won't involve slides.
But, how to limit it to 80 minutes without limiting the interactive portions? Nor skimping on the informative portions?
Why did I do this to myself?

I'm presenting at the #GTechSummit23 next week (August 8). My topic is "Technology to Support English Learners & Multilingual Families".
I'll cover federal #k12 requirements, translation sites, general document and video accessibility (for ML families and others), and general best practices for supporting #EnglishLearners in the classroom (including "don't translate *everything*").
Thoughts or ideas? I'm assuming most are aware of a lot, but maybe not in deep detail.
