@mWare @markrprior Indeed. This is the nature of plenty of meetups. I'm surprised #GTALUG has actually made it back to in-person meetings.
Sounds like it was an excellent community, though.

The Greater Toronto Area LUG #GTALUG also has hybrid meetings and posts them online. Their mailing list is also moderately active, subscribe at https://www.gtalug.org/?page_id=16 Lots of overlap with #KWLUG.
I thought they were in the Fediverse, but I can't find them.
Sadly, I haven't been to a GTALUG meeting since I worked in Toronto (10 years ago!) and haven't been to a KWLUG meeting in-person since the start of the pandemic. Maybe again in the spring when it's biking weather again.

High-performance applications use graphics processors to do hundreds of calculations in parallel yet people often misunderstand some of the foundational problems. We review a couple of those problems tracing the career of Turing Award winner Leslie Lamport.
Then we look at the impact of these ideas on Machine Learning and Blockchain technologies.

CW: I did a lightning talk. Very brief eye contact
This is happened in August at the local Linux users group. #GTALUG
I really hope this would go better than it did, but due to some a/v issues (I'm also doing a/v ) I was pretty nervous when I began talking. My microphone didn't work for the first 2 minutes, also the most of the audience wasn't where the camera was, so I totally forgot to look at the camera.
