#Elephants eat by bringing their food to their #mouths using their trunks. But that only works #sideways. An evolutionary adaptation to the fact that the #trunk, as an extended nose and at the same time a highly innervated, precise #grippingorgan, is connected to further skull #modifications, even the arrangement of mouth #vibrissae. There are also left-wing and right-wing “drunkers,” as scientists have recently discovered.
