  1. Thinking about starting a #GreenCoding & #GreenWeb blog, because I haven't seen one which aggregates news yet (like wptavern.com/ e.g.). I see lots of stuff on LinkedIn every week.

But blogs are a bit left behind nowadays (Getting into YouTube Shorts would maybe generate more awareness for the topic). And it's time consuming + it's connected to the big lost fight for 1,5 / 2 degree celsisus: You have to beg Mega Corps like Google, Amazon & Co to take action = can be depressing. 🤷🤔

  2. #GreenCoding #GreenWeb Hey! Has anybody here already read "Building Green Software" by Anne Currie, Sarah Hsu, Sara Bergman by chance? Or has someone taken the (free) course "Green Software for Practitioners (LFC131)"?

I’d love to dive a bit deeper into green coding & green web after I started with #SustainableWebDesign by Tom Greenwood a few years ago + saw the talk „Fooled by the Website Carbon Calculator” by Roberta Haseleu + read inspiring blog posts by @fershad 1/

  3. Today I made the first release of Energy Impact . See github.com/aixigo/sonarqube-ja

Based on scientific research the usage of and is discouraged due to higher leading to higher |s. 5% |s can be achieved.

Now I'm searching for ways to measure energy consumption in Microbenchmark Harness () to start working on the higher hanging fruits/recommendations of the paper: doi.org/10.1007/s10664-021-099

  4. Sustainable Software - A case for transparency in software energy consumption💻 🌿

In our upcoming #cleanIT openXchange Talk, Arne Tarara, Founder of Green Coding Berlin, will present open-source projects to make energy consumption in CI/CD pipelines visible and the Green Metrics Tool which helps developers compare arbitrary software regarding its energy cost.
