One memory from #GR221 that keeps returning. While climbing up a valley on a fine morning we met a local guy with a chainsaw pruning old olive trees. As we went higher and higher, we kept hearing the chainsaw. The sound was no longer a foreign mechanical noise, but something like a tibetan horn, filling the valley with a huge, endless reverb; an eternal Om of the creation.

#GR221 finished. It’s a beautiful trail, a whole lot of landscapes packed into just five days or so; heartily recommended. The peaks are not high, the highest peak on the trail is 1445 meters, but the prominence often made me feel like in higher Alps around 2000 meters. You get into towns once or twice a day, but the towns are beautiful too. My only regret is that you need to fly there.

New shoes day 🏃😃
Trail shoes "La Sportiva Mutant" have arrived.

First impression is that they feel very solid and firm.
Exactly why I selected them for the GR221 fastpacking adventure with mainly rocky surface.

Unfortunately they where a little too small so I ordered a bigger size straight away.
Should arrive in a few days.

Total distance is approx 130km with 5500m EG.
We booked our flights today so there is no way back anymore 😊.

We have 6 days to hike/fastpack and 2 travel days.

After day 3 the legs are probably completely acidic, but hey! Its still better than sitting behind my PC 🙂

Heute ging’s bei wundervollem Wetter am #GR221 von Tossals Verds zum Kloster Lluc. Mein Garmin spuckt 900 Höhenmeter aus, aber es werden wohl weniger sein. Es werden also immer weniger Höhenmeter. 😉 #RanagoesMallorca

@stadtstreunen_at nein, von Süden nach Norden durch die Tramontana, das ist ein Gebirgszug, der sich da auf der Westseite raufzieht.
Ich bin aber nicht ganz am Beginn des #GR221 eingestiegen.

Meine zweite Etappe von Deià nach Sóller am #GR221 war heute ein Klax. Es gab einen kleinen Umweg zur Küste, der sich voll auszahlt. #RanagoesMallorca
