  6. (Gross political interference)
In late Friday night social media posts, President Donald Trump demands the Smithsonian to install a colossal statue of George Washington outside the National Museum of American History and a special exhibit honoring the nation's first president.

  7. An Egyptian scarab amulet was discovered in an Oretani tomb at the Necropolis of El Toro in central Spain. Made of faience and inscribed with Egyptian hieroglyphs and Demotic characters, it likely reached Iberia through Phoenician-Punic trade networks by the 6th century BC. Buried alongside local cremated remains and grave goods, the object shows how far Egyptian symbols and Mediterranean exchange reached long before Roman rule.

  14. A 12th-century BC Elamite blue chalcedony pendant from ancient Iran, preserved in the British Museum. Engraved in #cuneiform, it carries a remarkably intimate dedication from King Shilhak-Inshushinak to his daughter: "I, Shilhak-Inshushinak, enlarger of the realm, took this stone from the land of Puralish; what I painstakingly crafted, I placed here and gave to Bar-Uli, my beloved daughter."

  15. Have you ever seen the Singing Stone? When it was first displayed at the Museum, this massive block of vibrant blue azurite and green malachite (both copper ore minerals) made high-pitched sounds when the humidity changed with the weather and seasons. These noises were produced as the porous stone absorbed and released moisture from the air. Since it’s now exhibited in a climate-controlled environment, it no longer sings.
