Last but not least, Oliver Thamm gave us a tour of his global engine simulating antiquity civilizations, built on PostGIS and the NASA WorldWind framework.
This was really a passion project, also presented at Geomob Berlin, and something that really resonated with our (small) audience.

Ides Bauwens of Nazka Mapps presented "Wind In My Backyard" (WIMBY).
This was when the gaming-part of the evening started. When Ides presented the WIMBY project he also played a game with the audience.
A bit strange for a geomob event but it worked very well and there was an interesting discussion going on about wind farms and data. Mission accomplished!

First up was Alexandre Jaillon of Médecins Sans Frontières, presenting "GIS Support to MSF Operations".
Alex gave us a very interesting peek inside MSF operations and how GIS plays a critical role there. @TheMissingMaps project was also presented as an integral part of all this.

5/ Finally, Julien Minet spoke to us about the state of OpenStreetMap railway data in Belgium.
Lots of potential for useful apps, for example a train app for people traveling with their bike.
This however requires very detailed tagging in OSM. Still work to be done here, Julien encourages everyone to get involved.

4/ Third #geomobBE speaker was Leonardo Mauri, telling us about the 3+30+300 guidelines for tree access in Belgium.
The goal is that from each home you can see 3 trees, 30% of space is covered by tree canopy, and every building <= 300m from a park/forest.
HIs company performs GIS analysis to assess progress versus the guidelines and show where trees should be planted.
Great maps!
