The second example is of the Gemini suit used for space walks like Astronaut Ed White's first-ever space walk by an American on June 3, 1965. The hand-held small metal cylinders are a self-propulsion device.

I have two examples of Gemini suits. Here is the first:
The display reads: Gemini GT7 December 4, 1965. This "get-me-down" suit was custom fitted for Astronaut Jim Lovell for Gemini VII mission training. It was to provide a pressurized atmosphere around the crewman in the event of loss of cabin pressure. The designed operating pressure was 3.75 pounds per square inch. This suit was more comfortable than the general Gemini suit in that it had only two layers, a cover layer of Nomex fabric and a bladder of ripstop nylon with a soft helmet integrated with the basic torso. The helmet visor is made of acrylic plastic. The approximate weight of this suit is only 12 pounds.
