As excited as I was to get Gears of War E-Day when it came out, it looks like my PC won’t run it. It requires a CPU that’s AVX compatible, which mine is not.
Funnily enough, my PC can run Gears 5 at 60+ fps steadily at 1080p and medium-high detail.
I will either pass on the game entirely or just get it to play on my Xbox only.

No one can say i haven't given #NierAutomata a fair shot. 35 hours in is more time invested than anyone's ever given one of my recommendations.
But every time i wanna give this game more than like... high 7 low 8, it finds a new reason i shouldn't.
If it's not lack of enemy diversity/tactics it's how washed out everything looks no matter what screen i play it on, or those wack ass bullet hell flight unit levels they keep making me play, or the unsatisfying bosses, or this trash ass 9S playthrough where they explicitly undermine the strongest aspect: its tight, polished combat.
My enduring critique of the first #GearsOfWar game s its 2000s sensibilities. In Gears 1 it FEELS like almost every gunfight is interrupted by some sort of additional one off quick time event mechanic: turn the wheel or close the gate or pump the gas or steer the boat or shoot the gas can, and those are explicitly frustrating BECAUSE the core gameplay is so damn good. i want to soak in the moment to moment shootouts but the game keeps trying to distract me from shooting things as if it's scared I'll get bored of shooting. Instead it frustrates me.
N:A feels similarly frustrating. I would prefer it if its gameplay leaned into what it does well instead of veering into goofy shit with disconcerting frequency.
