  1. Atari GameStation Go handheld is available for pre-order for $180, comes with 200+ games built in

At a time when gaming handhelds with $1000+ price tags offer blazing-fast processors, high-resolution displays with fast refresh rates, and the ability to play AAA PC games, thereโ€™s something charming about the Atari GameStation Go: a handheld thatโ€™s clearly meant for retro gaming and not much else.

The handheld is the result of a partnership between Atari and MyArcade, and not only does it [โ€ฆ]

The Atari GameStation Go is a handheld game console from MyArcade and Atari with a mix of modern and retro features. First previewed last year, the device is on display at CES 2025 this week and MyArcade says itโ€™ll be available for purchase in the third quarter of 2025 for $150.

  3. Atari Gamestation Go handheld console will debut at CES 2025

Itโ€™s been nearly a year since My Arcade showed off a handheld game console developed in collaboration with the company that currently owns the rights to the Atari name. Now theyโ€™ve posted a short teaser video on YouTube and social media indicating that the Atari Gamestation Go will be officially unveiled at CES 2025 next week.

While the companies havenโ€™t announced specs, pricing, availability, or even functionality, the video does give us a pretty good look at the design.

The GameStation Go has an interesting set of controllers including some that are common on modern handhelds (like an analog stick, D-Pad, four action buttons, and four shoulder buttons), and some that are not (like a trackball and a numeric keypad).

Of course, many classic Atari games were designed for much more basic controllers, so itโ€™s interesting to see that the X, Y, A. and B buttons appear to be backlit. Rumor has it that only the buttons you need for a particular game will be lit while playing, but the fact that there are so many different controls suggest that you might not be limited to playing only classic Atari games.

For what itโ€™s worth, the original Atari GameStation Pro from My Arcade comes with โ€œ200+ video games built-in,โ€ but thatโ€™s not a portable console โ€“ itโ€™s a home game system thatโ€™s meant to be used while plugged in.

We also learned from the GameStation Go teaser video that the handheld will have a set of ports that includes a headphone jack, HDMI output, and a microSD card reader, and there are what appear to be two USB-C ports that can be used to connect up to two additional wired controllers for multiplayer gaming.

More details should be revealed next week.
