  1. Yesterday we visited the #Volkssternwarte #Köln ✨🔭 The weather was overcast, so conditions were limited, but we were still able to observe #Jupiter and its four #GalileanMoons #Io, #Europa, #Ganymede, and #Callisto.

    The main #telescope is a 600 mm #Cassegrain reflector with a focal length of 5,400 mm, which enables high-magnification observations of #planets, the #Moon, double #stars, and bright planetary #nebulae.

  2. 🌌 Star party night at the Westport Observatory — finally.

    We’re back tonight. Gate opens @ 8 PM. On the menu: giant Jupiter and its Galilean moons, Saturn’s nearly edge-on rings, Uranus, Neptune, and plenty of deep-sky eye candy. Clear skies willing, it’s going to be a good one.
