A pretty sunset sky tonight. I was a little late with the camera, the pinks were much brighter 30 seconds earlier. But it is still a pretty mix of sunset pastels and dark clouds.

This photo doesn’t do it justice, but there was a huge, sprawling storm cloud east of my location this evening, with alerts going off every few minutes. I assume this was the system causing those alerts. The cloud was huge, with an enormous almost perfect circular base. It looked like a UFO, but also quite delicate and pretty.

(I was stopped at a light when I took this picture, no dangerous driving for me)

Covered up my little garden bed in anticipation of possible bad weather this evening. Forecasts ranged from “partly cloudy with a little wind” to “damaging hail and maybe a tornado”. Very helpful forecast. 🤔🙄

Beautiful blue skies overhead right now, but Pikes Peak is disappearing and it looks like there’s a storm a-coming.

You can always tell a storm is moving in when Pikes Peak falls off (over time, I have honed my ability to notice and understand these subtle clues from nature, you see).

This storm system is anticipated to bring us anywhere from a trace of snow (or perhaps just cold rain) to 20” of snow. ❄️ 🤔

Helpful forecast, right there.

Cool clouds out east! Probably not as cool for the people under them though. 😬

The clouds are a bit fuzzy as I was in my car and my camera kept trying to focus on the dead bugs in the windshield. 🪰🤭😆

Left the scenery in to show scale, so unfortunately @ai6yr could probably geolocate this, but since I didn’t take it from my house, I feel overconfidently safe. Besides, I totes drove 2,845 miles from my home to take this photo!!

Fun with clouds this evening!

Trying to be mammatus clouds? Or just your classic mashed potato clouds? (I believe the technical meteorological term is “masho potatus”.)
